Needs Your Help

To Whom It May Concern:

  Most of you know about the Newbern Street Dance that is the last Saturday in July.  This is put on by the Newbern Volunteer Fire Department. This is the 7th year the Volunteer Firemen have gotten together and made this night happen!

This years date will be July 26, 2008, 3pm-11pm located in Downtown Newbern on the "Triangle".  There will be inflatable jumpers for the kids (free), Games, Food, Woman-less Beauty Revue, Auction, a Live Band, plus much more!  This is a Family Oriented Night.

Sparky the Fire Dog will be here!  Sparky will be available for pictures with the children!

This is what the fire department purchased with the money raised from last year’s street dance!  The Hart Cart, is used in aiding in the search and rescue, in the event of an emergency, to find victims and transport them to receive medical attention.  (i.e. In event of tornado, a massive storm, or a massive fire)

 This is the only fund raiser that the fire department has to raise money for new equipment.  This year, the fire department wants to purchase new SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apprentice) which cost on average of $4000.00 a piece.  What I am asking of you is to help out with the auction. 

The fire department is in need of items to be donated for the auction.  What are they looking for? Lamps, picture frames, candles, tools, NASCAR items, collectibles, floral arrangements, appliances, clothing, gift certificates, DVD's, CD's, anything that you would want to bid on if you were there at the auction!  Please help these wonderful men that brave the battle of the fire to save the lives of those trapped inside, because it maybe one of us that needs them someday!
